My first real job, other than baby-sitting, started when I was 14. I was a trail guide at Grimm’Äôs Riding Stable in Zoar Valley every summer until I turned 24. Hoping to add pictures from that time shortly...

Attending college at SUNY Brockport, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. At the time the market was flooded with teachers, and I did not complete my teaching degree. Instead, I went to work for what was then C-B Foods in Brockport, a division of Curtis-Burns. I began as a girl Friday in a small office, and as the facility grew became Office Manager. After eleven years, I left to complete my teaching degree, returning to Brockport to earn my Masters in Secondary Education in Mathematics.

My teaching career began with the Rochester City
School District in 1986. I found my niche in
Middle School. Starting out, I was at Fredrick
Douglass Middle school for two years, East High
School for 1 year, and eleven years at Monroe
                                         Middle School.
Monroe Middle School- 1989-2000
In the fall of 2000 I left the RCSD and began teaching at the Honeoye Falls-Lima Middle School, teaching 7th grade math until I retired this past summer. I enjoyed working with Middle School age kids, but am now looking forward to spending time at home kicking back with a good book, working in the garden, heading for the woods on my horse, golfing, or fishing!
